Steam rising from Gunnuhver

Kleifarvatn · Seltún · Gunnuhver

Highlights of the Reykjanes Peninsula

Reykjanes is coming alive. It reminded us with an eruption that there is a reason it is all covered with lava fields. The Atlantic ridge comes ashore on the southwest corner of the peninsula, so you can expect some action there: fissures left by earthquakes, rift valleys and violent hot springs. And now a brand new volcano adds to the reason you just must go and pay a visit.
